Pulido-Moyano’s Consciousness Endomitosis Theory
Consciousness Dividing and Recognizing Itself as Cosmos
Rafael Pulido-Moyano holds that Consciousness (Brahman) is the sole reality and that the cosmos unfolds as Consciousness repeatedly divides and recognizes itself, much as a cell divides in mitosis. Each replication of the self-referential sentence ‘I am aware that I am aware’ produces a holon of being and awareness, which may appear as a particle, a planet or a person.

What consciousness is
Consciousness is the sole ontological ground of everything: its substratum, origin and essence. Pulido-Moyano reads ‘All this is verily Brahman’ (sarvam khalvidam brahma) as a literal metaphysical statement.
Mind and body
Matter is a manifestation of Consciousness. Subject and object, observer and observed, separate only within the illusory play (māyā) of self-reflective awareness.
Mechanism
Endomitosis: Consciousness divides and recognizes itself within itself, in a process akin to cell mitosis, replicating its self-referential sentence until it reaches a critical limit.
Core claims
- Pulido-Moyano holds that Consciousness is the sole reality and is not an emergent property of matter.
- The self-referential sentence ‘I am aware that I am aware’ is the primal vibration that generates multiplicity from unity.
- Black holes act as portals linking the finite universe to the infinite Brahman, in a cyclical cosmogenesis.
- Penrose's Conformal Cyclic Cosmology could describe the geometry of these cycles and Everett's many-worlds interpretation a parallel branching, with CET supplying the reason they happen.
Criticisms
The links to physics (four forces matching four parts of a sentence, black holes as portals, entropy as lost unity) are analogies offered without a derivation or a prediction that could be checked.
Implications
- Survival beyond death: Likely
- Since each self is identical with Brahman, the undivided Consciousness that is one's true identity does not end with the body.
- Meaning and purpose: Cosmic/Ultimate
- Pulido-Moyano offers CET as a path to moksha, liberation through recognizing that Atman and Brahman are one.
